...I then popped a couple of old chains into a bucket and poured (in the absence oof any engine oil) what I thought was old fork oil onto them.....then realised it was brake fluid!....

Luxury, pupster, luxury. When I were a lad we had do make do with Bowden cables and axle grease.

Rode the bike in really heavy rain just before Christmas.....cut out a few times but managed to ride home.....went for a ride the other day and it just cut out on me......battery was flat and managed to kick start......anyway had time today to work on it.....I kind of suspected electrics and swapped the coil (new before the trip) for my old one with metal cap cover.....fired up instantly.....not sure why a new coil should turn temperamental?????

If you can find a good condition Suzuki GS125 they are ideal, years ago when I was a motorcycle instructor we ran a fleet of them.

The ones with a electric start are best for beginners, makes stalling in traffic a lot less worrying.

Really nice Suzuki GN125 in Team Roberts Conisbrough, it says £1700 on the ticket. Lu picked up a good condition (surface rust here and there) SR125 for £500 (had just had chain/sprockets and brake pads fitted) last year.

I've got a MZ 125 Saxon Sportster in the garage. Very good condition, low mileage, rides very well.

My boy did his Part 1 & 11 on it. He only paid for a mornings tuition before the part 1 so he had the swerve and braking practice off road. The road part he failed first time but the second time he went through no problems.
