MT500 (with Land Rover content)

One from when I collected the MT500 from London in a Series III Land Rover (Ex FFR).

I remember a week in the height of summer driving a LWB S111 diesel truck cab Land Rover towing a large bowser round the Fens, following as part of a helicopter spraying gang. One of the worst experiences of my life, stuck for hours in the cramped hot cab, with the only creature comfort being able to open a vent through the bulkhead to let the fresh air and wasps in. Quite a feat of engineering for an engine to make sooo much noise with no discernible power output, and yet consume so much fuel. Having said all that, one of my favourite vehicles I've owned was a 1958 S11 SWB petrol!
