Lands End Trial 2020
Anyone doing this? Anyone done it before? I’m new to this sort of event, don’t want anything too taxing but still want a challenge, is worth a go for my first time. It has a novice class but don’t want to be driving Miss Daisy, I guess it’s a little bit like skiing, I’m looking for blue/red but want to avoid black.

Do a forum search on Lands Trial, then PM those who've done it
Somehow I don't think it's a Green but I don't think it'll be a Double Black either

Hi Sloppy
For a first timer the club has a class “o”
This will give you a good taster of the event
It can be difficult or as easy as you want
Have a look on the “classes” page on the MCC club web site
This has a better explanation than I could conjure up
The Lands End trials are fantastic , just get your entry sent off now ...
You will have a great time , plenty of helpful people to point you in the right direction

Re: Lands End Trial 2020
Myself and Andrew are entered again. I have always done the main trial as class O seems a bit of a cop out.
Its great fun and stressful at the same time. Some sections are very easy and a few will test your skills.
The main thing is to prepare the road book and read all the instructions as it is run to time and in the early hours its easy to make mistakes.
Also make sure your bike is well prepared, reliable and road legal with correct trials tyres.
There is nothing worse than setting off in pouring rain which makes it a long night if you're wet and cold.
But there is nothing like the adrenaline boost you get when starting a section and the feeling of accomplishment of getting to the finish.
Even if you don't get a medal.
Here is a video with me at the start of Blue Hills section. Can you understand what the marshal says to me ? Translation Skippy ?

Yes, Popham. If you enter you can indicate that you want to travel with me ( Philip Maton ) and Andrew Whitelock. Then you can tag along with us. If you have good eyes we might get you to navigate.
