North Wales Report

Post by Bonnielad » Sun Sep 29, 2019 4:10 pm

Just 6 made it to the Carrog Station campsite on Friday, dodging plenty of rain on the way.
Minter's race van broke down just a couple of miles short of the campsite with injector trouble so we towed him in, parked him up then went to the pub for dinner and drinky poos.
On Saturday Jooles went off on a road bimble by himself, later reporting he had a great time exploring the less-travelled roads.
The rest of us (Geoff, Minter, Dave B, my son Lee and myself) all set off on the trails, led by Geoff. Luckily, the rain actually behaved itself for most of the day.
None of us got through the day without tasting the dirt but we all had a great day's riding.
Big thanks to Geoff for map reading and leading, and to the others for their great banter and company - oh, and Lardmarc for turning up for an hour on Saturday afternoon to see if anyone needed a blow-dry!
Those that made it all had a memorable weekend. Next year I promise not to clash dates with the Oddballs.

A very jolly weekend. Some pretty tough new trails were found. Good company and good to see Doug and pal dropping by to visit. next adventure - Wye Valley.

Good to see you lot enjoying the Welsh sunshine. Sorry I couldn't stay, had a meal booked. Only missed the starter but main and pudding was excellent.

Managed to squeeze next to a couple of MT's.

Well done Steve. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I hope Gary made it home, many people are depending on him.
