The Edinburgh Trial 5-6.10.18

The above, despite its name, takes place largely in the Peak District of Derbyshire.

It involves navigating about the county, in daylight and overnight. Upon arriving at a "section" (offroad bit), you ride the same and attempt to do so without incurring penalties for stopping, touching down (a dab), or failing to restart after a deliberate stop. There are about 20 sections. You play against the course, not the clock.

Superstar Stu recently did this event.

To enter you must join The Motor Cycle Club - ÂŁ35.00 pa.

The regs for this event are not yet out. When they are, I will be entering.

Given that I live fairly close to the Peak District, I can if needed offer accommodation to MT Riders entrants.

Anyone else up for this?

I think this is the event I went to several years ago now and met up with DGR Rustybike and Gronk. We stood by the side of one stage, and had to adopt 'mountain goat' tactics to climb up and and down it

We saw many riders pick their way up a steep boulder-strewn track THEN there was a blur as Minter rocketed up the stage at twice the speed of any other rider He was followed by Arceye who had a mandatory Stop/Go half up the stage due to his MT500 engine size

It was a good spectator event and the inclusion of a couple of forum members added interest If you haven't seen the event it's worthwhile and competitors earn a great deal of respect If you can make It, you will have an excellent day
