The bridge which crosses the motorway A20 at Beaune les Mines boundary is absolutely without interest.

But 50 metres before it is one of France’s oldest oaks. Very difficult to take a really good pic with the hedges and small trees obscuring its trunk, but the oak is to the right of the Enfield and you can just see its top from the road.

Things move on apace on the left bank of the Fowey.

Look out Paris.

“Specials abound at the VMCC Kit Hill Informal Gatherings and some really are more special than others,” wrote Bridge Club backalong.

Yesterday the bike’s owner caught up with me on t’ internet and gave me a link to some more very special pics.

Once again it’s time to ask collective experience of the internet, “What do you think this is?”

According to the Bridge Club Archive Ebay Eric and Velton over on ikba.co.uk went straight to the heart of the last Plushabridge Club Challenge and I do hope someone out there will recognise this silver artefact and send in some details of this small silver cylinder with a spring-loaded pusher at its closed end.

Well, it's like this. A couple of the wiser heads over on another board say it's a sprung tamper for a tobacco pipe - as a lapsed pipe-smoker I can almost see this.

On the other hand Mrs NVNL turned up this on flea bay - 160819996597 - S Mordan & Co Silver Propelling Pencil London Hallmark 1921 3"L

I would have said it was the brass case of a bullet.
