Bumping the thread, to see if it's still on,
Fergie wrote:Hi All,

I've been watching this thread for a while (from North of the Border).

I've got a small farm / smallholding in North Lanarkshire (20 acres) so can offer camping facilities and a workshop if required (and a trailer if recovery is needed!). Anyone who is passing is most welcome to drop in. We're about half way between Glasgow & Edinburgh, on the A71, near Newmains but in the countryside. DSG has an open invitation to visit his old BMW R100RT if he's ever in the neighborhood!

Let me know the intended route when it's organised, and feel free to include a stop here if it suits.

Cheers,

John

the offer above still stands, if you go ahead with a tour of Scotland.

I'm well aware Greybeard's comment was "tongue in cheek", but actually if you wanted to avoid a long ride from Southampton to Scotland, you could indeed bring a trailer then leave it here while you ride around the country. There's plenty of secure parking, as well as camping space (in a field).

I think the suggested dates were either May or September, and either would be suitable (we might be away in July).

Cheers,

John
