Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
Right after all the faff trying to get my unidentifiable frame sorted I've just gone and got another, this time complete with a real VIN and 654 - got a sense of dejavu at the moment though as I'm prepping the second frame for paint...
Pictures and finally some more re-building to follow

Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
Frame after 1 coat
Forks after aluminium primer - tomorrow i'll put the topcoat on
Crazy aluminium primer - in real life it's electric blue but this camera's sh*t....
Swingarm after 1 coat
Tomorrow the plan is to put another coat on everything and get the dash/headlight cowling plastic stripped. The original speedo is nackered so i'm looking to put a new digital speedo in - maybe a trailtech vapour or vector - mounted in an alu plate with the original information lights & ignition key.
Am I right in thinking that an Aprilia RS50 digital speedo pickup fits as a direct replacement for the mechanical pickup on an MT350 front end? I saw it in a digital speedo thread but don't recall anyone confirming it. Also, can anyone comment if it can provide a suitable input for a trailtech or similar instead of the individual magnet/sensor?

Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
The building back up has finally started - though probably a little pre-maturely.
Anyway - Engine, underguard and front frame
With main chassis
With forks
Finished the last of the plastic stripping too today. Tomorrow will be getting the swing arm and wheels on so that it's mobile enough to be moved about the garage before I leave again.

Not had mine on a long run as yet, but will do Stafford this year. Keep the good work up mate. Speak soon. Cheers. Vinnie

Cheers Vinnie!
Should be something in the coming weeks regarding electrics/the dash but there won't be anything else till i'm back on the build proper over Easter.

Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
So here's the dash plate nearly finished, just need to add on the speedo support tags (once i figure out the sheetmetal function in solidworks properly), then it's off to be laser cut from some 2mm 6082-T6 aluminium
Space for a Vapor speedo, the key barrel, the standard lights and a 12V power socket
Just not sure whether to leave it bare alu or have it anodised black...

Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
The dash plates been laser cut and is currently at the anodisers (sorry didn't get an inbetween pic but it looks sweet) for a black coating.
The bike is now packed up ready to come back to uni with me so hopefully progress will be visible as I procrastinate from revising for my final exams!

Re: Ben's MT350 Rebuild
Finally got round to doing a little, replaced the front and rear wheel bearings today but found I needed to do the sprocket bearings too. They're on order now so the wheels should be on next week.
