I don't paint the plastics as a rule. It does not stick long term.

However it was not my choice anyway, the owner wanted to keep them original.

Not wishing to open a can of worms or start an argument but painting plastics is not a problem when done with the right products. Just look how many car parts are plastic and they don't have problems.
BUT... if that's what the guy wants.......
Personally I think it spoils a first class finish.

It's no can of worms. My experience is that the paint will eventually come of the MT parts. The red bike side panels had to be repainted as that was lifting.

Some plastics are designed to be painted. Some plastics especially those that have a high silicone content are not meant to be painted. It's pretty simple, yes you can paint anything but in my experience sooner in or later the paint and the plastic start to part company.

I choose not to paint them and in this case the owner decided not to paint them. Personally I would have preferred to have put polished aluminium side panels on it......

Either way, the owner is ecstatic about the finish which is good enough for me.
