This is a link to the estate web site. Mostly about the house, but you'll get a flavour of the place. There is a link to the woodland management side of things, which is my bit of responsibility

Re: Northamptonshire bimbling?
Hi Jon, This sounds like a fabulous place, can you confirm that we are meeting at Broughton House, NN14 1BJ. This looks like a very large estate, is there a pacific location where we are meeting on the estate or will you be there at NN14 1BJ to meet us, sorry for all the questions. I also notice there is not an actual meet time yet on the Saturday morning. Im 2 hours away from you so a 0900/1000 hours start would be nice or earlier, you decide.
Many Thanks for organizing this.

The entrance to the camp site is on the Grafton Underwood to Brigstock rd. The entrance is called 'Cooke's barns', entrance has a big silver gate. For those who use 'what3words' (if you don't you should, look it up its great for setting locations) the type in ///patting.looks.sometimes . There is an alternative entrance a few hundred yards away at ///dives.racing.beam there is a caravan club sign on the gate. Not sure which one I'll be using
You are welcome to turn up on the Friday.
Nearest shop is a Co-op in Brigstock.
I was thinking of a 9am meet up on the Saturday morning, to get going by 9.30-10am - allows a bit of time to get the MT500's started
My phone number is 07557018930, or, 01536 373663. I live about three miles from the site in Brigstock. The phone signal is crap in the village and so try the land line if you cant get hold of me on the mobile.
I'm working on getting permission to ride through the parkland, shouldn't be an issue but just need to check we wouldn't disturb anything else on in the park
Catering would be your own affair, but I'm planning on at least one stop on the Saturday for a bit of lunch. It'll be more greasy spoon than haute cuisine.
I'm not planning on any serious hardcore off roading, mostly greenlaning, expect a bit of mud, some nice countryside, etc. Perhaps on another occasion we could visit the old ironstone quarries for those not adverse to damaging their bikes, or themselves.
If any body has any suggestions about timing, what has worked before, etc etc then very happy to hear

I'm up for camping and a ride round the local area, but body is getting a bit old for off-roading.

I think you're doing fine on your own, carry on.

I'm sure with a bit of planning those that want to can avoid any bits they don't like the look of. The route around the estate is mostly on grass rides and hard tracks.

As per Dave's suggestion I think we should start an attendee list. That would help me with the planning and others to see who's turning up.
Refresh of the details as they stand;
Friday evening turn up for those camping. If enough interest we can go for a quick trail around the wood next to the camp site early evening , hard tracks and grass rides, and/or head off to the pub. I would suggest this one http://www.thegeddingtonstar.co.uk/
I need a good idea of who is camping and what time they want to turn up so as to best arrange the access to the site
Saturday - Meet up around 9-9.30. Get going by 10am. Green laning and trundle around countryside. Stop for lunch at roadside cafe about half way https://www.facebook.com/power.lunches.1/ bit more green laning and road work. Back at campsite by mid/late afternoon.
The route I have in mind would be a around 50-60 miles. Given that some of that would off road, and so a lot slower, I'm working on it taking around 5-6hrs including plenty of stops etc. Does that seem a reasonable distance and time scale? its easy enough to adjust things.
