according to ordinance survey this is the centre of Britain.Centre of Great Britain – the computer calculation resulted in a location 7 km north west of Dunsop Bridge, Lancashire, by Whitendale Hanging Stones on Brennard Farm in the Forest of Bowland (SD 64188.3, 56541.43).

Actually, I think you will find market harborough is the centre of the U.K.

When I went to school in harborough, our geography teacher had us draw a line from the top of the U.K. to the bottoms and then across the widest part east to west and the intersection is market harborough. One of those useless facts that sticks with you!!

I have spoken to Simon and the committe, here is the plan. We are still going to do the Stafford Classic Bike Show but we will not be staying there.

So mark your calenders, the "big meet" will be in Stratford Upon Avon, on the weekend of 22/23/24th April/ we will take up a camp site/rally field. You will not get more cental than that.

The plan and logistics will get firmed up over the coming weeks, but in short: arrive on the 22nd from midday onwards, we can drink and eat. On the Saturday we will leave on mass to Stafford at around 0830hrs, for those that went to the last Uttoxeter will know this is an event not to be missed or is it Chaos?? There will be a van at Stafford for all your purchases. The plan would be to leave Stafford around 1530hrs. On the Saturday night more food and drink, I will work out ref a band etc. Normal head off on the Sunday when you are ready, I would advice trip around Stratford first.

Costs: tbc: but plan on 2 nights camping tenner a night, entrance to Stafford 12 quid and then food etc, it will be around 50 quid, do not hold me to that.

Lots more details to follow over the coming weeks, but we are on it and it will happen. Lets make this the biggest one ever. Support the club and have a good laugh with like minded nutters. so thats more than 4 months notice, get your bikes sorted.
