Quite corect young Bunker. At the time the British Army was looking for a replacement for the Can-Am 250's SWM (Speedy Working Motors) was going into liquidationThey had the XN Tornado in both 350cc and 500cc capacities. Seemingly Jeff Clews bought one in Italy, one in Switzerland one in England ( 3 were needed to compte for contract). The story is told in "Rolling Thunder" and the rest is history and our obsession.

Great rebuild and nice pictures too - but is it really a 350 not a 500? I too thought it was an Armstrong.... I wait to be educated

When those of us who went to Normandy last year bumped into the Armstrong production manager, he told us that the first few MT500s were built using frames made by SWM.
