Wich units of the British army used the bikes? Only the Royal Loyistic Corps or were they put in use in all units?

The Dutch army used army bikes (moto guzzi v 50) in all units for serveral reasons. The dispatch riders followed a central training and were send to the serveral units (tanks, infantry, artilley, etc).
Now they use the KTM only with the paratroopers (airbrigade).

Most, if not all units in teh 80's British Army had an MT Dept (Motor Transport)

They would have had a mixture of motorcycles, Landrovers, Tracked Vehicles and HGVs (Lorries) plus various other bits . (We trialled two Honda Quads in 1988 in 24 Airmobile Brigade, both in red [for Morpheus])

You were just as likely to see the motorbikes ridden by soldiers wearing a camouflage jacket and green lightweight trousers as you were the correct Barbour DR suit.

Was never in 32 Armoured, but spent the odd scheme that way. Knew quite a few from there at various times, getting posted around.

the pics would explain why my MT500's continue to excete mud at every oppotunity. Like the V50 pic - one of my favourite bikes,

I was with 32 in Munsterlager from 1991 until it closed then stayed with the unit in Hohne until 1996, fantastic time, I've just google earthed Dennis Barracks, wow thats changed a bit!
I loved my time with the Armoured Farmers and watched the last cheiftain launch its final Bridge with the Land Warfare Battle group in warminster, a sad day indeed.

Blimey, its a small world John. And thats sad news of the closing.
I had great times driving the old Centurians and Cheiftains from 1981 - 85.
It always seemed to be waist high in mud on Soltau.
