Pretty little bridge in a green wood

Very, very cute English bridge not a million miles from Sampford Spiney.

It may even be near Brook House, hard to say – I was at the ‘lost’ end of the lost-and-found game at the time.

At last, having ridden down to the Glynn Valley and parked near a lay-by on the A38 (no tea van, just a rather swanky and very modern RAC emergency telephone) we look into the dark, deep and lovely Hollowmarsh Woods and strain to make out the shape of an anglers’ footbridge, a last dry crossing of the River Bedalder, Medhalder or Warleggan where it meets the Fowey.

Over on the Real Classic Message Board (http://www.realclassic.co.uk/messageswide.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) the buzz was all of fords and other partial immersion photoshoots; walking the course, choosing correct footwear, camera settings, so on, so forth.

Even though the pantomime season will soon be upon us let’s make no mention of the bike taking a nose dive off the centre stand and through the trapdoor in the little red bench.

Riding seems to be a late afternoon affair at the mo’ and is marked by the flight of the starling.
