With all Armstrongs it is mostly technique in starting the girls. Are you coming to the Wye Valley Run?

Re: My new MT500 :D
If i can get the nack of it and i'm confident that if I took a treck down I wouldnt be getting the train back, then yeah. I would love to.
However I haven't got the nack yet.
How much of it is technique? Carbs cleaner then a whistle, tanks spotless, who fule line is imaculate, its getting air. Filters cleanish. Unfortunately I lost my spark plug wrench when I moved house though so I cant check that yet, is it more likely to be a bad spark or bad technique? Ive have had it running, just hardly ever lol.
Got the carb back on. Big thanks to you all

Re: My new MT500 :D
Unfortunately I live on quite a flat area, I have tried but I apparently didn't have enough speed and it spluttered and stopped. I got a mate coming round sometime through the week to give us a push and I'll let you know how it goes!

Does your cam belt cover have a clear window in the top?
If it does then line the white marker in the window.
With choke on and a little bit of throttle take a deep breath an give it a good kick.
other wise get it to compression and do the same.
btw I live on a hill and bump it every morning

Re: My new MT500 :D
Hah lucky you mate! But yeah, Ive been trying lots of variations with regards to choke nd throttle. Always getting it in the little window first. Which makes me think all is not right as im a big 17st guy who plays rugby so my legs arent exactally weak. Im just not sure how precise the technique has to be, never ridden one before. So I cant tell weither it me or the bike just yet.

Re: My new MT500 :D
Well he said it was very difficult to get going, but he was using it a few months ago daily. Pointed me in the direction of the looking glass ect.
On the day of me buying it he couldnt start it however, so I think somethings gone missed in my checks. I can only presume its either the timing or the HT lead / plug.
