"We are sticking with the original campsite, the saturday night meal will be held in the pub next door"
Hi Franc
Looking forward to Friday, :D just wondered what is the name of the pub next door to help pin point the camp site.
Cheers from Dave

Pub next door is called the Fountain Inn.
Parkend is a small place, I will be amazed if anyone fails to find it, there is only one cross-roads, the pub is on the cross roads, and the scout hut is clearly visable from the main road.
I have asked Bunker to bring the MT riders club banner to put on the fence outside.
Hope this makes it easier for you.

I am good at finding pubs, it is leaving them that I find tricky.
We have a MT Riders Club Banner :!: Cool.

There used to be a railway bridge many years ago, somewhere around the Sharpness area, unfortunately it was hit by a barge back when everything was black and white, it was destroyed and killed a lot of people.
The Severn ferry stopped working when they built the 1st Severn bridge, so unless you bring your arm bands your options are a bit limited.

Only two, Gloucester and the first (orig) Severn Crossing, sorry mate. The route from Gloucester is quite nice avoiding the M50. Not sure where you are coming from but if you turn off at Tewkesbury, Jct 9 turn right and follow the A38, joins A40 at roundabout. Turn right and then left onto the A48. After going through Westbury-on-Severn take a right A4151 signed for Cinderford and Littledean. Take the B4226 'St Whites Road'. go past Dikes Memorial Hospital and take the B4234 (left turn) and this leads into Parkend.

This is a fairly senic route.
