This is the lane that possed a few issues last time we went out.. 'we' all got stuck on it for a good while... even the tricked up landy boys who laughed at us couldnt make it look easy!! God knows how they get cars up it!!

Apophis did some video on it on youtube.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. This guy in his Ford 'Pop' made light work of the infamous Bamford Clough.

Yes, i know, it hadn't been raining. Still a sterling example of little power used wisely ;) .

Thanks to DSG for good day out on some of Derbyshire's back lanes, excellent weather too.

A great day out thanks to Dave DSG. How he organised the weather I don't know.
It was good to see a variety of bikes and cars in action going up the rough stuff. Both the MT500 and MT350 sailed up making it look easy.

Cheers Dave
good day playing out. Brill weather and company. It took a little while to get over to stoke then home. My front brakes failed on the way to Buxton so had to do a pitstop to cool them off. Then my indicators packed up. I think its service time.
Cheers guys for a good Day.

Hi all. It was great to see you at the Pub.

I was on the MT500 in the event and my buddy Matt was on the MT350( Now 500).

We had a great ride and looks like we should be straining the trophy cabinet a little more. :D

Unfortunately I was a bit preoccupied at Bamford to give you all a wave.

These long distance trials are great events and well suited to the MT. The only changes we have made are generally to soften the rear suspension a bit ( I was lucky enoughto get a set of Fournel Air shocks for mine) and improve the headlights.
You need some way of reading the map book as you go along, toratec make a luverly map book holder but I have seen these made from tuperware boxes. Also an iluminated clock.

The big enemy is lack of concentration in the sections towards the end of the event , it only takes a second to ruin a clean sheet.

The next one is the Exeter trial hope to see some of you there.

Hi Spannerhands

pleased to meet you on Saturday at the Bull and glad to hear that you had a good event. We gave you a cheer as you romped past us on Bamford Clough.

I rode in my first Edinburgh Trial back in the mid 70s on a Motessa. That event started for me in Coventry and the weather was grim compared to the last weekend's weather.
I too have ridden an Armstrong in the Lands End and Exeter trials. The final time being on an 800 GS - a doddle to ride on Blue Hills.

Have fun in January!

Dear Dave

I should think a GS 800 wuld be a bit of a handful I have enough of a struggle at times with the MT.
The weather was amazing for the Edinbourough which certainly helped although I was surprised how slippery Bamford was particularly at the bottom. I think it must have been the dust.
Althoughthe bikes ran perfectly our Van ended up going back to Wiltshire on an AA wagon.

I will let you all know how the Exeter goes.

All the best Dave ( another one)
