Wye valley throttle, bottle, camp and cruise. 7-9 Oct

Re: Wye valley throttle, bottle, camp and cruise. 7-9 Oct
As Mr Fox says above.
Friday night will be a campfire BBQ.
Breakfast will be done in two ways,
1 There is a cafe across the road who will open early on Saturday morning, they can do bacon butties, tea, coffee, etc. there tariff.
They will be open Sunday as well but at normal times (I don't believe there will be many early risers on this day).
2 We will be able to get bacon, eggs, beans, etc, and cook them at the scout hut we will have to chip in (or bring yer own ).
I am setting myself a budget to put towards food for the group with this in mind, Ă‚ÂŁ50.
Any tins of beans left over will be left for the scouts.
Whatever folk prefer, I can do a run to Tescos with the van to stock up.

I have been receiving messages via E-mail, yet not through PM's, I'm not sure if my replies got through, so please PM me again.
Goeff, I understand that not everyone can get their MT ready, with work commitments, etc.
So its not a problem if you have to bring an alternative bike.
There are definately going to be one or two Honda XR's there, mainly ridden by the leaders, and sweepers, this is due to them possibly having to ride up and down the tracks helping other riders. (reduce rider fatigue).
With some of the tracks being a little tricky, we shall have opt out routes, and will be implementing a buddy system.
All riders will be asked to organise themselves into pairs, upto fives, to stick together and help one another if one should fall, or require assistance past an obstacle, we then ask if you can leave a generous gap (1-2 minutes) between buddy groups so as not to run into each other.
At the end of each track we will regroup and move onto the next, so as not to lose each other.
There is one track in particular, that will feature at the end of the day, the buddy system is possible the only safe-ish way of negotiating it, its tight overgrown, very rocky, and requires patience, and steady going, if you rush on ahead you are likely to get hurt.

Just a few questions.
Where is the scout hut ? The arrow on the map is on the crossroads of New road.
Do i need my tent or can we kip in the scout hut ?
Will Pirate make it back from Morrco by then ? He has an obligation to do the BBQ.

The scout hut is unmissable, its just off the cross road, opposite the only bike shop/ cafe in the village, your more likely to blink and miss the village, than miss the scout hut.arceye wrote:Just a few questions.

You can kip in the scout hut if you wish, it will double up as the bunk house.
Pirate is on his way home, it may be a god send for you all if he doesn't cook.
Your welcome to try your hand at campfire cooking.
