My replacement valve adjustment screws arrived today - many thanks to Steve at KL Motorsports. He personally rang me when I was ordering to make sure he could get them out in that days delivery despite running behind himself! He even sent them off before confirmation from paypal that my money had gone to him! Can't praise the customer service enough
Anyway...2 replacement adjustment screws ready for the fitting
Rocker arm assy removed, just before this I thought I'd well and truley f***ed the engine when undoing the rocker pivot socket screw. I needed a massive breaker bar to do it and got a mighty crack when it went - I got scared when only a tiny bolt came out and not the whole pivot - i thought I'd sheared it.
The panic was over though when I saw internal screw threads in the pivot, and used a bolt to pull it out. 2 seperate componenents = No sheared bits

That's the engine essentially done now I think - just need to replace the spark plug - after I get hold of a socket that fits properly - is a "standard" deep 18mm socket correct?

More paint - Frame and other parts
Before shots - Bare frame prior to clean up
After angle grinding, wirebrushing and 240grade wet/dry all over
1st coat, done in two stages because the paint started drying too much with all the fiddly bits/weld/angles etc
Coat 1.5, the other half of this coat to be done asap
Parts after cleaning/wire brushing / rubbing down
Parts hanging to dry
Rear rack after 2 coats, again probably one more final coat will be put on.
Paint wise I need to do a couple more coats here and there on these parts, and the fork legs and swingarm in their entirety. This stage has got things looking immensely better - amazing what paint can do!

Well that looks really good. It just goes to show that powder coating isn't the only option. The preparation must have taken hours.

As you can see I only went to bare metal where necessary. I think there's probably about 1.5 hours in pressure washing (plastics also) 3 in grinding/wirebrushing and a couple in sanding over all the bits.

as for petrol proofing...i havnt found a paint or laquer that does the job yet.

No work on the bike tonigh - I've been doing theory / hazard perception mocks for my bike theory tomorrow!

Well I passed the theory test fine - bloody swizz there were only about 5 bike-specific questions on it! I was essentially doing my car theory test again...
Anyway, unfortunately this won't be updated for a while, my original aim of having it done before heading back to uni has not been realised. I don't have anywhere there that I can work on it so it'll be sitting in the garage until i'm back in December to start work on it again!

Really been enjoying what you're doing to your bike and well done on passing the theory! December mush seem like an awful long time away, but at least your paint will be good and dry by then ....
