Morocco 2013

Post by Pirate » Thu Sep 08, 2011 11:04 am

I will be leading a return trip to Morocco around October 2013. I know that on the last trip there was a great deal of interest but due to 'money, job and swimbo' (in that order), many members were unable to make it. So 25 months notice should be enough for members wishing to come along, to save their pennies.

Alot of things were learnt from this years recce which will enable a much smoother and informed trip.

I sadly won't be going on this one as if all thing go to plan me and Fantastic Missus Fox will be in some far flung corner of the world.

And if things don't go to plan and I'm in the same Job time off in October is a no Go area!!

.....Interesting.....I'm dreaming of going through Russia to Mongolia in 2013, setting off in May......Might be nice though to head south instead......Do you think there will be peace in Libya by then?.......

In a word no, there is a civil war to be had there first, then UN peace keepers and all the dramas and stuff that goes with it.

Pencil me in Pirate, after seeing the spectacular scenery, and the friendliness of the natives, I would love to go back, this time with a bike. 8-)

I think the problems this year were as much down to Human error as machine problems. I hope that our problems do not put anyone off traveling with their MT, If you look at others (Captain MT350, Pupster, DSG) they have all had sucessful trips.

My problems could have been fixed in spain but I needed to be back at work so didn't have the time to wait for parts.

I've penciled you in Franc and yes the MT is more than capable of doing the whole trip and is a very comfortable bike to tour on. I had been in the saddle for 8 hours without a break, only stopped for fuel, before the final problem happened. There are not many motorcycles about that you can say that of.

We're not interested in the breakdown truck, we want to know what an MT would be like to ride long distance.....
