"Fair place 3d"......."4th"
Priceless
Awsome effort Stu, When you get inside your engine I may have the internals you need here.

Fair play indeed mate, against all that modern machinery.
I feel knackered just looking at it!

Funny how people still see the MT350 as an Armstrong.

i would be tempted to do next years when i have my mt done though not sure i would off had enough practice. Also may be able to have a spare 500 engine to take to such events when its complete.

whats the specs on changing stuff like engines in the field etc... if you get a tow back and fix up can you carry on?? Is there a limit to the size of the support team?

You're crazy!mtt.tr wrote:i would be tempted to do next years when i have my mt done though not sure i would off had enough practice. Also may be able to have a spare 500 engine to take to such events when its complete.
Fit an electric start at least. I seriously can not describe just how hard it was - even on the light KTM. I was so close to quitting half way round the 2nd lap. It's seriously hard. Any videos you watch will not do it justice.
I honestly wish you the best of luck, but when you've just tried going up a hill the height of a 6 storey building, at an angle that defies gravity, in a rut the size of your bike and you hit one of the millions of football sized rocks which causes you to wheelie and fall backwards with the bike landing on top of you, you will be cursing having to kick start the bike. <--- This happened to me while riding my mates kickstart only 2 stroke 250. I landed on my back, it landed on my bent legs and I didn't have the strength to lift it off. It took me a while to wriggle free. I then had to drag the bike down to the bottom to try again as the hill was too steep and slippery to hold it still while trying to kickstart.
Anyway, I'm doing the 24 hour solo next year! But I wont be doing it on an MT I'm afraid. This course is completely mental.
2 things I need to work on. Fitness and Skills. Green Laning alone will not be good enough.
Good luck Matt!

No limits mate, just fix up and carry on. If you have more than 1 team member you can have more than 1 bike so can just swap bikes if one dies (like mine).TDIPower wrote:whats the specs on changing stuff like engines in the field etc... if you get a tow back and fix up can you carry on?? this takes me back to an idea I had a while back.
Local (doncaster) is a couple of MX tracks, you can turn up n ride or book one of the circuits exclusive for the day. Might be worth a weekend at it. Full day round n round the same track getting the skills honed.
