Seriously geezer, it was probably a blessing in disguise.

After taking it back to pits and then taking the ktm's round, I doubt I could have managed a full lap with the MT (with my abilities - I'm sure Ady and Minter would've been OK). Honestly, it was so so hard. Harder than any other hard thing.

Did I mention how hard it is? NO FOOTAGE ON YOUTUBE DOES IT JUSTICE!

So anyway, I'm gonna be training to do the 24 hour marathon (solo) next year - I'll probably be on KTM 400 though.

Really bad luck.. I can only imagine the adrenalin rush of it all and trying to keep it in check knowing it's an enduro and there is no need to rush things.
Next year... I feel a 'TEAM MTR' in the making!!!

I promise you, unless you have skills like Gary and Ady, you will not make it even half way round on an MT. Especially on a kick start only mt500.

And it was dry! If it had been wet like every other year, I might not even have completed a lap on the ktm's.

And I don't plan on buying a ktm anytime soon, Desert Rose would provide them and support us during the races.

I seriously need to get fit!

right the challenge is down... providing it is in the school hols Im up for it. I do need to get a shit load of time in off road so as soon as i get space in the garage WILL get the 350 rebuilt. then will be in a more sutable place to get out with others for weekend ride outs in to the peaks.

On one of the Landrover forums we used to support Team Saluki (desert racing dog) the team put up guys, fed water, transport, they just had to get their arses out to the UAE as support crew, gearbox, engine, axle swaps just like the WRC rally stuff!!

MT riders team call!!
