Chequer plate panniers project to fit in rear racks...
Re: Chequer plate panniers project to fit in rear racks...
Panniers are almost complete, one is all sealed and water tight and the other is ready for final assembaly and both need lids making for them.
Iv got some nice lockable over center clasps to put on and some BMW screen edging for the top edge under the lid.
Hopfully will have them both done for north Wales

Just a finishing touch... icing on the cake...
Finally got round to putting my Armstrong stickers I had made on the bike, origionally going to put them on the tank. Had a better idea...
Mounted on aluminium sheet, rivvited onto my homemade panniers, job done.
Oh and for all you rivet counters out there, there's 6

They look brilliant, well done. A tip for cutting ally chequer plate in future is use a jigsaw not an angle grinder!

Top job! Nice finishing touch with the stickers. I love to see peoples homemade alternatives to overpriced, over hyped bike gear, not only is it a lot cheaper but often they achieve better end results because the item is made to the users needs & wants rather than the manufacturers needs & wants. I'll come & have a nose at these at the Dragon. Simon.

The angle grinder worked ok with a very thin stainless steel cutting blade in. Was going to use a jigsaw but thought it would be too vicious and would leave a rough edge.truslack wrote:They look brilliant, well done.
