Chequer plate panniers project to fit in rear racks...
Chequer plate panniers project to fit in rear racks...
Was a good day when my dad found 2m sq of ally chequer plate (5bar) in a skip!
Decided to have ago at making some panniers to fit in the MT500 rear racks.
So far I have gone through 5 cutting discs to cut out the peices, now to mock them up.

Slight re design, the front bottom and back are no longer one peice as I couldnt get a decent bend. Each pannier is now made from 5 peices ex lid and corner strips.

Hi Nick
They look good and robust keep the pictures coming
Just a suggestion when you put the boxes together finally put some silicone at all the joints it will keep them water proof and help to stop any movement in the metal
You may have thought about this already but hope you don't mind the suggestion

Indeed, Iv'e got hold of some silacone/glue/sealent stuff for metal which should do the job, just mocking up at the moment. Think the neighbours are getting pissed off of the noisedave120v wrote:Hi Nick
