PROBLEMS PROBLEMS Bloody exhaust studs, as can be seen one of the studs has sheared .
Thankfully fellow member Danswankie has a pillar drill and offered to help, so as soon as weather improves I'll be heading over where hopefully we can drill it out and retap, clean ready for new stud. Image
This would appear to be a common problem as I have encountered this before with these bikes . The only solution I think is plenty of high melting point grease and to take out the studs and nuts periodically and regrease.Damn and Blast this is holding things up at present and I've hidden the bike in my hallway as I've got visitors tomorrow. I'll just throw a blanket over it and disguise it as a clothes horse :!:

Eventually got round to cleaning head and then sprayed with high temp matt black paint Image
At last engine in just to connect exhaust, carburettor and chain then try it. Will do seals as and when they start to leak. Image
Hope to have it running and check everything out and then Stafford here I come.
Cheers Jim.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
