You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Re: Engine buggered - a sort of rebuild thread...
Took it for a run yesterday but motored like an 3 legged dog (baaah)...
Limped back home and took the 180 main jet out replacing with a standard 160 (as per ellriders set up). Also swapped out for a standard (well a shiney stainless one) 350 pipe.
MAIN GOTT!!
Ran a treat - never run so good!
Might still get it to the rolling road as its ending its range at 70 (thats where the power band kicked in with my old 865 cam!!)
So no excuses, will be riding to Stafford!

Still not right then. Are you still on the same gearing?Bunker wrote:

Re: Engine buggered - a sort of rebuild thread...
You may want to try a 16 (80-85mph) or even a 17 if it'll pull it, unless your primary use is off road then leave it alone.Bunker wrote:Yep, 15t.Bunker wrote:

Re: Engine buggered - a sort of rebuild thread...
Took the wee beastie out for a bit of laning this eve with Alex and Guy. Ran ok but half way up a lane I smelled burning - the headers were WHITE hot!! Shut down and rested it a while. So its ok on the road I guess with plenty of airflow but running very lean. The needle is up by 3.6 already and Im running a 42 pilot. I could swap the K&N air filter out for a standard but would rather increase the fuelling than decrease the air - any tips?
