2000 MT-500 arrives!

Post by mutt_kahuna » Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:56 am

Well...I finally got my MT-500...it's a year 2000 showing 2200 miles...I found it on craigslist and was only about 3 hours away from me...the previous owner changed out the directionals with ones that he said "looked less clunky".
Here's a pic of the MT......Also looking for some parts to complete: right side mirror,front boxes/mounting hardware ,rifle box and a new headlamp or headlamp glass. Image

Nice.
You may want the rear brace bars that the rear foot pegs are mounted on too. :)

Very Nice. My Mirrors where broken so I brought This ENDURO L/R EA - EMGO - 20-64580
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UK ... 31CHJB8MPF" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Looks good on the MT500 has the rubber base and fits the mirror post 10mm and it was just $8.00 each.

Congratulation!

Hi,

Looks excellent, though I think you may find the rifle box and front panniers are for MT350, the 500 had soft panniers, though hard ones are listed in manufactures parts list, as are rear pegs.

He's got an American Harley Davidson MT500, not the British Armstrong MT500 :) They had the same panniers, our rifle boxes were built for SA80's though so don't know if there's a different one for M16's (or whatever they use)?

Fair point Stu,

I thought the M16 was a longer barrel than the SA80 though happy to accept I am probably wrong on that.

I don't remember to be honest, I fired one into a brick wall once at a Pen Dem though.
