Re: Pennine Way Run 2011
Those of you who have requested information regarding this event have been sent a PDF with campsite details and three daily route sheets.
The first campsite at Hayfield is one run by the Camping and Caravan Club. Anyone going on this event can reserve a pitch now by telephoning the central booking office on: 0845 1307633. The site is closed until April. When booking if you mention my name (Dave Gilligan) then the warden will reserve pitches close together.
If anyone wants any more information or the PDF please contact me.
Dave

Re: Pennine Way Run 2011
All those beautiful roads, im sure there are loads of lanes there to get playing on.
Ill try and come along if there is space for a newbie to the MT magic.
I have some roadbooks for greenlanes out that way somewhere, and working on other routes that may be worth a look.
Happy to meet up and get involved if I can be of help.
May is not that far away now.

Re: Pennine Way Run 2011
Quite a number of members have expressed an interest in the Pennine Way Run which will be run from May 13th to 16th. Daily road routes and information about the campsites have been sent out via emails. With just over two months to go before the start of this event would those members who intend joining please confirm their intent to participate, a PM or email to me will suffice.
Just as a reminder the first campsite on the Friday night is at Hayfield in Derbyshire. Saturday's route is some 230 miles taking riders to Ribblesdale. Sunday's route, 220 miles will take us to Bellingham in Northumberland and a final 130 miles on Monday to Shoreswood which is just inland from Berwick on Tweed.
Whilst I have been in touch with the campsite owners in order to ensure we can use the sites I am leaving it with members to make their own bookings. Evening meals may be had at local pubs etc.
Members can join for one day or two days or three days.

Re: Pennine Way Run 2011
Hi Dave, I'm seriously considering this now, it all seems to have gone very quiet on this one.
I do know a few have signed up for it but seeing as it is being done behind the scenes via email it's not been very prominent.
How many of you members are still interested in this, even if it is for just a section or two. It has been very well organised and takes in a cracking route.
