Project MT350 73KL29

Post by Minter » Sat Jan 22, 2011 4:46 pm

I started this project back in January 2008 and finished it that summer, It also made me aware of this forum after i sold bits i no longer needed to members! I took the finished bike to the Stafford show last year where i met many members and decided to join the clan!

I'm currently working on a 500 project at the mo but still waiting for all the bits to come back from painters etc, so thought i'd dig out some old pics of my first MT rebuild and share it with you all.....

The pictures arn't so good as they were taken on my old phone! I'll try and document my 500 project better!
This is all the big bits back from the painters....

I rebuilt the motor during the winter in the warmth of my utility room!

The motor fits!

I decided to leave off all the panniers racks scabbard etc as this is how i remember the 350's and 500's best - stripped down for racing! :)
So there you have it... my 350 project from start to finish! Looking forward now to my 500 project now.....

Cheers Craig and Mr S...

All i did with carb was shorten the return spring and file off the blanking plug to access the mixture screw and richened the mixture a tad. She runs like a little sewing machine, ive only ridden side saddle on her down the garden to check all gears and clutch worked ok. She is a 'working model' to be admired and caressed etc etc!! I can get all dirty with my others!! ;)

Great updates to apophis parts and new stock list by the way Craig...

A big credit to you, better than the factory did!

It's a few years since I rebuilt a bike in the kitchen!

And at the end of the day what did it cost?
