Anouther 604 is almost done

Post by digger » Mon Aug 30, 2010 2:48 pm

I ,ve had a bit of a push and this is how the bike looks now. It has been built out of assorted parts and is a mixture of 350 and 500 bits. This has caused me some problems, most of which have been overcome. The observant amongst you will notice the 604 engine, Apophis, exhaust system and 36mm Dellorto carb. The 350 front rim and 500 rear are wearing Heidenau tyres.
The bike has been built to replace my 500 as general winter runabout, ( my Norton doesn't like salt) and as such will not be as pristine as some, hopefully a couple of months should see it finished.
The only thing I,m not happy with is the shade of green, it looked different on the chart, but there again beeing green colourblind doesn't help !!!!!!.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

I popped round to see Digger last night and can confirm that his bike, is indeed, a thing of beauty. I'm now making plans for some serious garage time to get mine to the same stage.

oooo I didn't notice the gaitors on the first look, great idea.
Do they keep all the dirt out, as the ones on Piglet are showing some serious signs of abrasion going on there.

As for the rebuild, hope it's going well, coz it looks lovely see innit.
I just couldn't dirty something that looks that immaculate and I think alot of people have that problem once completing something like this (cars/bikes/whatever)
My conversion was nowhere near as asthetically pleasing!

Cracking job, looking forward to seeing it.

Great job! This is exactly the spec that armstrong should have built back in 1985! A proper bike with a proper engine and proper brakes... I'd love to one exactly the same some time.......... :)
