Pete Low wrote:Nice bit of fabrication there Mark. What thickness is the steel that the sidecar body is made of?
8mm, wanted it to be up to the job.
1.6mm, worked ok without being too heavy.

Just done 200 miles on it this weekend camping in mid Wales, no problems yet but I do need stiffer rear shocks so a call to Hagon is imminent.

I was talking to an old bloke about this. He said he used to take them off and turn the bike into a rigid.

Thanks for the offer Vic but 'burnt yellow' isn't really a colour I'm after.
Seriously I don't think they'd be heavy enough.

350 shocks pre loaded? Hagons I can not recommend, blew the seals on mine in no time. Loving my 350 shocks now
oh also, if you do go down the Hagon route, don't use the original shock mounting "cap" washers, they ain't man enough to stop the mounting eyelet moving outwards and on mine were badly damaged, thick penny washers are the way!
Thanks for the info. Finding the combo a bit top heavy with the std length shocks so wanted something a bit shorter, tried some after market ones but too soft.(held on using penny washers
) If Hagon come back with a tidy price to my spec I'll have them and if the seals blow they'll have them.

Tought I'd repaint it in different camo colours and try a bit of green landing.
