Pennine Way Run 2011

Post by DSG » Wed Nov 10, 2010 10:41 am

Would any members be interested in joining a two / three day run on roads closely following the Pennine Way in 2011?
It would start at Edale in Derbyshire and finish at Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland.
The first leg would be from Edale to Hawes.
Second leg Hawes to Carlisle.
Third leg Carlisle to Berwick (via Kirk Yetholm)
Accommodation: I would probably use Youth Hostels but I would provide a list of campsites, B&Bs and hotels and let members book for themselves.
There would be a named pub where we could eat / meet in the evening.
I would provide a detailed daily route sheet.
Please let me know if you could be interested.

It really depends on the date. If it clashes with school holidays then it would be a no-no for me, but other than that I'd be keen to come along.

Hi Eric
I haven't a date fixed yet. A lot will depend on the numbers interested. It won't be during schools hoidays in order to avoid busy times. Possibly May.

I was interested till you said its all roads.
I have always wanted to do a route like that, but off road.
There was a program years ago following some old bikes doing the route.
I think that Nick Nowles was one of them.
