Woodruffs Armstrong(s)

This will be my everyday bike, however there are a few jobs to be done.....

Having now ridden MT's for a while now I really want to build myself a everyday bike. There are features of the MT I love from both the armstrong and HD I will combine, and others I am not so keen on and will be changing :shock:

This wont be a purists rebuild; but I hope building a everyday usable classic that will see many active years as a main form of transport.

A good looking project in the making. I'm doing the same thing, building a good everyday bike that will hopefully serve me well for the years to come.

Keep the photo's coming as you progress.

Well Sorry I have not reported back yet, been some developments namely another armstrong has joined it. one will be the pukka project bike the other to be built up as a greenlaner. I am going to strip them down in tandem and have all the parts treated/painted at the same time.

Spent a lot of time sourcing stainless fixings and speaking to local powdercoaters. Now have a big pile of bits to evaluate.

also been making up a simple loom for the greenlaner, designed to move some of the electric items - fuse box, horn, and connections higher up on the bike out of the mud and wet.

Ran up the new armstrong today, all seems ok so the engine is now out and the 604 offered up for a squint at what cutting will need to be done.

Drank a lot of tea.
