Digger had standard gaiters on his shocks at one point if I remember rightly
As an update on the build, (I,ve got other projects on the go ),I,ve got to fit tyres ,chain and sprockets a bit of wiring, get a hose for the front brake and paint the tank that the powder coater wouldnt do and a thousand other small jobs .

The silver frame, bash guard and swinging arm came from the 350 I'm building for my wife. I kept the bike in one piece while I painted another frame and swinging arm from Simon, then swapped the other bits onto the freshly painted frame.
The bent forks mentioned will be from a different bike as my wife's bike is wearing its original forks (the sliders are original, I've swapped the stantions with my 500 as I needed more ground clearance).

Hi everyone,
As John has said, I bought my bike 12 hours after the offer to join the rideout. Can't be accused of being too keen! Just lucky that someone was selling a suitable bike less than 4 miles from where I live, for a decent price. What can I say? It's fate...
Got the tax yesterday and have now arranged a visit to see John and give it the once over. Looking forward to a long ride out down south!
I'll post some pics when I start work on it. Even though it's fairly sorted, a little TLC wouldn't hurt.

Bit more done, air box, battery box and loom in place, lower yoke on, rain stopped play today

Thanks for the comment Gents, The bike is now a rolling project and got the engine fitted today. Thought I had taken some pictures of the bike but not on there ( getting old!).
Had a bit of a shock before fitting the engine. Doing some basic servicing I opened up the cam cover for the first time to reveal this
Idler and tensioner were seized and both cam and crank pulleys need renewing, corrosion had got that bad that it had even damaged the crank seal, anyway it now looks like this, Bizarrely the rest of the engine is spotless
