Shetland and back again...

Post by Hooligween » Sun May 30, 2010 9:37 am

Delighted to report sterling service from my MT on last week's jaunt from Cornwall to the Shetland Isles and back again. Around 1600 miles travelled in six days; less than 100 of those miles on motorway or dual-carriageway. Broke a centrestand spring; charge light flickered during torrential downpours; trip meter died on the final leg home over Exmoor. Apart from that, Snarley was indefatigable! (And didn't have to be recovered by the AA or spend a morning in the workshop on Shetland, unlike a certain 650 BSA which accompanied me... Ahem!).
Plus, I think I've converted two dozen people to the cause. The nice man on the ferry was really keen; he's been checking out ebay and I expect he'll pop up here fairly soon!

Good effort, great to hear reliability stories like this.

Hope you enjoyed your trip.

Excellent Rowena,

That shot's near the ferry terminal in Lerwick isn't it?

We were up there a couple of years ago - I thought then how nice the roads would be for motorcycling.

How was the weather?

Glad it went well for you Rowena, I notice that you and Frank weren,t at the VJMCC do at Stanford hall today.
It will be interesting reading when you tell the RC members how well the bike went, especially those who said you should have done it on the Triumph or the Douglas or the Beemer. :) :) :)

Excellent trip, well done !

I would also like to thank you for the article you wrote about your MT for RC magazine, it was while reading this article that I realised I needed an MT !!!! Didn't realise you were on here.

Thanks again.
