Terry wrote:My car owners club do a similar thing .....We have a "Help Book" .....it lists the members name, phone number & address [The address is obviously not a good idea in our case, just the town will suffice]
It then gives the following options.
A. I can help with mechanical problems [reserved for the mechanical experts amongst us....although a bit of "moral support" never goes amiss]
B. I can get parts [new or used][Dealers....or anyone with a few "spares" in the shed]
C. I can trailer a broken down 'bike to a place of safety [trailer/van owners .....or at least some-one with somewhere safe to leave your 'bike until it can be fixed]
D. I know a place where it is possible to spend a night for an economical price [Know of any cheap Campsites/B&B's in your area?]
E. I will show other owners interesting places in my locality [Green lanes anyone? .....or a good garage in case of breakdowns].

It works......I've both helped & been helped in the past.....but we keep it to bona fide members of the club, and all the info is in a book which has to purchased [at a nominal cost] ......and if your name aint in it ..... dont bother applying for one,you wont get one!

ride safe
T. ;)

Yeah I'll go in, would be glad if I can give something back to other members, thought Terry's idea about a book above was a good one.

I'd be up for that, missed out from a call for help from Neilos when he had a puncture close to me because I was not on the forum at the right time.
Count me in,
David.

Count me in too, a circle of 100km around my house will be no problem (when at home or at phone), with trailer, spares, tools, b&b (free of course) etc. I know the feeling :D :D :D
At any time welcome without a breakdown ;)
