Post by Roy W » Sat Feb 21, 2009 10:22 am

Saw this through Google Image, some interesting pannier and jerry can fitments for a 350.

but it looks interesting nevertheless ;)
Also the those lights(?) on the front?

Mmm... are you sure?
All the telltales that I use to spot a 350 are there.
The diskbrakes in front, the position of the indicators, the shape of the engine guard, the barkbusters.
The only thing that's odd are the panniers.
But then, I don't know what the US spec 500 looks like. :?

the same as a 350 just without the rear pillion struts and the silencer is longer at the end....[edit]...

That lower chain guard isn't spec on UK models so I presume it is the US HD MT500

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

it´s a US MT500 with the lower chainguard and the typical headlampcowl fastening screws. All US MT´s have this labels on the tank and frame (they like labels) :D

The photo was etitled 'Daytona' so that all fits. I like the Spot lights he has fitted to the side of the cowl........very neat.

Yes, Simon Knows All... :P
That is the USMT500 1999 or 2000.
The owner lived in Florida, he tried to sell it on Feebay.
And this picture was at last years Daytona Bike Auction.
So someone bought it?

This years Daytona Bike Auction is in 2 weeks.
And I'll be there on a USMT500. In the parking lot, Not in the auction.
It's a laugh, watching all the people taking pictures of the MT with their honey beside it.

The stickers are EPA Reg. so HD could sell them through their Dealers.
A touch of gas and they are gone.
Also the additional can was added to the pipe, for our clean air standards.
Which can be removed easy too.

They still list Daytona Bikeweek as the largest bike show in the US.
See you there???
Anyone coming, let me know? We could do some Offshore Fishing, later in the week.

I am fairly certain I know the owner of this bike. His name is Doug and lives in Alabama (USA). The bike was purchased for his wife\girlfriend. Nice guys, lives in teh states for 6 months out of the year and spends 6 on the road riding around Europe.

He goes by either RTWdoug or Guzzidoug on many forums. Here is his website.
