Sounds better than the car stuff as if you dont bake it it becomes flaky and falls off

I have made some real progress with this now
I didn't know the state of the engine after checking the Cam Belt pulleys they were fubar the top pulley was like a slide so i changed this for a good one i had
the bottom one was like a ball of rust and the sealing face was sh*ged

replaced this with a good one from Bunker :P :P new cam belt

mounted it in the frame Coil and amp fitted new plug new carb rubbers
touch of fuel in the tank and 2 Ltr's of oil second kick He was running

I can now Crack on with the build in the knowledge the engine is a runner and I wont need to drop it out again

going to cut the rear off the rear can mod the baffles plates so the engine can breath a bit better and have it welded back up

here is how He looks now

i decided to take a look inside the rear can for the Stig
i want the engine to breath more
here is what was done
the end was cut off and found that someone had already waked it with something
you can see this in pic 1 with the jagged flaring.

Pic 2 shows the bottom end of the can Left as is
Pic 3 we cut the restriction section out
Pic 4 end welded back on with a pice of tube welded on to try and reduce water going in

Pic 5 a close up of it welded back up

I now just have to fit it and see if it is still quiet

craig we took all that out and drilled through the 2 holes down the can, then did 2 more inbetween them, both of ours arnt very loud and pass the mot no probs, they are really restricted pipes if left unmodified, also in your pics you have the newer tank on this one is your other a std one, its alot higher than the oil cap, which makes it about 13lts, it might thrap abit with the down turned spout on, should sound good though

made some more progress with the Stig
I now have it on the running gear
My next job is to get the front forks built with 2" pre loads for it so the ones on him at the moment can get refurbished and put into storage.

When I get the forks on I will mount the front coul and sort out the loom
I have now sourced all the multi way connectors and have a full set for this purpose.

I decided to cut off the centre stand stop lug and mount the lower chain guard I had
as Stig will not have a centre stand.
New chain and sprockets also went on.

Im against time now to get it ready for his dƃĀ©but at the Wales weekend as registration is still to be done.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
