MT500

Well today i went to pick up my mt500 from lowuk he is a geat guy and is very helpful (and has a beautiful collection of mt's )

I think my first job will be to free the engine rebuild the it then store it, after that i shall move on to the wheels, frame then other bits and pieces. I actually feel this is in better condition than the ar50 i recently rebuilt.

The biggest job is pass my bike test at 17

Luckily one of the many people i know has a manual that is printed

Well i did an hour rubbing back the oil tan part of the frame that now will only need one more rub down then its ready for priming Will try to do the swing arm and frame tomorrow

Need to find suitable primers and suppliers local. Also this will be an experiment as it is yacht paint which my dad says is easy to apply and easy to get a good finish (also it is very salt resistant)

ar50 lil beastie, made one of them out of 2 bikes for my first bike on the road at 16, mt should be alot easier as its not made out of cheese that rusts away at the first sign of rain

That was what i was thinking as when i got the mt home and started pulling it apart i thought this is in pretty good condition

Went to the local yacht chandlers and picked up the primer also collected a coulour chart and they do the colours i was after

The forks look almost new under the gaiters
