Looks super! - remember to take more pics than you think you need to, will be invaluable as a refrance for others. On my last bike rebuild I cursed myself for not documenting all the hard workmorpheus wrote: and well recorded too

Re: Transition from MT500 to Project Scruffy - MT604e.
Just a quick update on my project seeing as I've not posted for a while. I was planning to be riding it this summer but things have overtaken me a bit and the project has suffered because of it.
The frame and all related parts are now back from Redditch Shotblasting and look really good in Olive Drab. I decided to get the rims as well as the hubs powdercoated and there off at the wheelbuilders along with the Distanzia's as of this morning, being laced up with stainless spokes.
Next job is to get the engine serviced and painted so I can start the rebuild and get it back looking like a bike again.
I seem to have lost the plot with photobucket at the mo hence no images............

Evening chaps,
It's been a fair old while since I last posted on my project, basically because not much has been happening, or so I thought. I kept screwing the odd bit on here and there, painting a bit, buying bits I needed etc etc.
Then on Saturday I decided to put a different bike on the workbench so had a tidy up and rolled the 604 out into the daylight. Shock, horror , I was pleasantly surprised how well it's coming along, there was just something so rewarding to see the fruits of my labour.
Now it's full steam ahead to get it finished. Still a long way to go but I have most of the parts I need. Wiring is next on the agenda.
I'll update on a regular basis now I'm back in the swing of things.

Hi Stuart, Looking real good!
I'm starting an Armstrong 604e project very soon! I like the way youve got around the primary oil filter problem, I was going to do away with the filter altogether but i like your solution i may need to borrow it!! Does the kick starter still fold away ok..?
I'm also using the front engine mount from a 350 too and was unsure which route to go down with the battery! Yours looks just the job! I'll keeping a close eye on your progress cant wait for the next instalment!
Great job, regards, Gary
PS.. Slightly off topic, I grew up not far from you and was born at the George Elliot!!

Hi Gary,
First of all I must stress that I'm not a native of Nuneaton, I emigrated from Coventry for the cheaper houses... .
Best of luck with your 604 project, give me a shout if you want any assistance. The kick start folds away ok but it is close. The biggest issue I had was sorting a bigger battery and getting it to fit neatly. I made an extra frame bracket and battery tray, if I can find them and you want to use them let me know, yours for the cost of the postage. The starter relay bolts on underneath.

Same reason i moved to Oxfordshire! Not! My bivouac has a great view of the ridgeway tho!!green_machine wrote:Hi Gary,

Any help advice would be greatly and gladly recieved as would the battery tray and brackets! My Dad still lives near Hinckley, He is sorting my twin leading front brake shoe so i can ride my blue Armstrong in twin shock MX..
Maybe we could meet up at the Longshoot sometime, Have a shandy and talk Amg 604's!
I may use a standard airbox with the micra K &N in but also have a cone filter like yours, Good idea for locating starter solenoid.
Ive got a 350 loom and regulator and intend to use that along with the third phase.... what solution do you have in mind?
So many questions! LoL !
