Just a quick update, FUBAR went for his first MOT today, and failed,
They didn't like the Perrelli rallycross front tyre, it has no BS or equivelent stamp on the side walls, they also got me on no split pin in the rear axle, and lack of braking power on the rear.
I have done the first two, and bled the brakes 5 times over, even taking the caliper off and shakinhg it to release the trapped air, new brake pads, steel braided hoses, the whole nine yards!!
Still can't get the rear brake to work properly, only thing I can think off is the non-standard rear master cylinder is not man enough for the job, does anyone have a spare??

Are you sure the calliper is working ok and that the pads are bedded in? I thought I had a problem with my transalp rear brake, which at 2,000 miles and after bleeding and knowing there was no air in it I just put down to being a crap brake, but then I did wonder if it was bedded in right and so going down a local mountain side I gave it some SERIOUS USE! and bingo half a mile down there it bit, problem cured.
I also remember having a hell of a problem getting all the air out of my old BM back brake system.

Pads are brand new, so bedding in could be the problem, but the resistance of the rear brake is not even man enough to hold it still on the road outside my house. surely this should not be the case.

Could STILL be the case that the pads won't grip the disc, I would think that any master cylinder KNOWN to be in good order combined with a fully working calliper to disc would perform better than that. One thing you could try is chalk the disk all over squeeze the brake on and roll the bike it will show you the contact area, but this is only a guide and won't tell you everything.

my mistake I thought you wanted a caliper not master... Did you fit normal or sintered pads?? if you have an angle grinder and a worn flappy sanding disk take your disk off and give it a light wiz over (unless you have a new disk fitted). take it for a run use the rear with light but frequent pressure.

I agree with the above comments take the bike out and give the brake some use, it will probably get better.
