Re: Introduction
Welcome to the forum, congrats on your purchase.
If you've taken something apart yourself reassembly is a lot easier but MT manuals are available on free download so they help a lot.
If you have any questions, just ask..You may well find that the answer is already on the forum , you can find things using the Search facility , top right, or by looking through the relevant section on the forum
Good luck

Re: Introduction
Hi there Mt 500 Riders Club
My Name is Ken Easton and I have been tasked with the restoration of an 86 Canadian army MT 500 for the Canadian War Museum (CWM).
Unfortunately the bike had been stored inside a disused Nuclear fast bunker with no climate control whatsoever. The drum brakes had seized solid, chain stiff as rebar
along with cables and the Amal carb completely knackered along with most most exterior components. The good news was that the motor kicked over effortlessly.
All the sand blasting and paint work done the bike is ready to go. I bought a deport Phf36 and the matching K+N air filter. I have some experience with deport carbs having owned various Moto Guzzi's since 1982 up to now.
The question is: Has anybody in the club have any experience setting up the delorto upgrade?
Cheers Ken

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the forum. I would have expected a restoration for a museum to have retained the original carb. That said the Amal has been discarded by many.Kenneth@cwm wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 4:29 pmHi there Mt 500 Riders Club

Using forum Search, top right, and looking through the structured forum, you may find the settings used for that particular carb ( I think a couple of sizes have been used)
I haven't used one myself so I can't advise.
