Rolled it out the garage after having not used it during summer (when my TT600 takes over) and it starting up fine then passing it's MOT first time. Advised on front wheel bearings, just a little play, so will need to see if they are a standard bearing, should be easy. Should be.

Totally agree. Changing the rear is a little harder but well worth it. It might not feel any different to ride, but something to do over winter to avoid an MOT failure

Yes twin bearings at the rear either side- ex-factory the inner bearings didn't have seals if I remember correctly. The sprocket carrier has 3 bearings on the MT350- think the MT500 only has 2.
If you've changed the rear bearings you'll find the front as Lardmarc describes- a doddle.

Removed / disconnected every thing required off my MT500 to drop my engine out in the morning. Then head and barrel off tomorrow to find a solution to stop it burning oil. Must be either Valve stem seals or piston ring. Boy these machines are quirky.

Just on the same mission to remove the head. Mine doesn't burn oil noticeably but compression is low so guess valves aren't seating or some such, time will tell.
I have had a right royal battle removing the exhaust studs and splitting the original exhaust system but just about there now with just the original trouser guard screws to get out. Crank nut and cam pulley bolt are now loose so next step is to drop the engine and take peek inside.
Keep us posted please on what you find to be the problem, it would be interesting to know as I'm new to the MT too!
