While I wait for my MOT man to re-open....

The clutch seemed to be a bit on the hard side so a new set of softer springs and a fresh cable was suggested by Gary. They arrived in the post a couple of days later and were fitted on Saturday. Took me a bit longer than I expected but the result is a bike I can now feather the clutch on as I ride round the garden until I can get an MOT sorted. Reskinned the seat while the sun was out as well, really pleased with the result.

What's the significance of the Blue paint sprayed on the springs I took out?

Bought the new cover from 'Wild Extreme' via the forum many years ago, quality was excellent.

Blue paint on springs ? My guess would be a manufactures mark denoting spring rate

Where did you get the softer springs from Stuart?
Dave.

Gary at Sportax supplied the springs and cable.
