Same here, been through loads of degreaser and gloves this afternoon, I’ve never seen so much oil 😁 at least I now know how great they will come up after painting, drives you along eh.

But yes as Paul said, thanks for the kind words and looking forward to posting the next stage πŸ‘πŸ»

Hiya fellas,

As I post this in this gorgeous weather πŸ™ƒ
Image

Just thought I'd give an update on my project, as I'm a tad bit behind Paul. I've managed to grind and prep some more parts plus I'm 100% stripped my frame now and just getting that ready for grinding.

So a few parts that were on my production line πŸ™‚
Image

Once I spent some back breaking hours (which was well worth it in the end) and hand sanding with the pads

Then the frame that I couldn't wait to get stripped

After degreasing multiple times, Is now ready to be stripped to the metal :P

It's hard work but anyone thinking about doing it I can highly recommend it (especially with what's going on at the moment), the reward in seeing the finished result will be amazing and I can't wait!

Unfortunately the painting facilities is at Paul's house, so if this lockdown goes on much longer I might need to find a way to also do it at mine... πŸ€”

Thanks for reading πŸ‘πŸ»

Thanks for updating us, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the final results. I suspect that rebuilding will go on for ever but with lock down keeping you off the streets, at least your time will be well spent. ( Mud will hose off fresh paint far more easily 😊 )

I look forward to you next installment

Hi Guys,

I thought it's time I share a quick update on the progress of bike 1 of 2.

I've been busy focusing on getting the frame done, they always say the effort is in the preparation!

Etch primed so hopefully the paint should stay on!

First coat of matt RAL6020 and I'm smiling under that mask :D

Several coats later and I'm done and happy with the results

Moving on to prep and paint the other 1000 parts

Thanks Dave, bet you wondered what we'd be doing with it!

Definitely needs a wiring loom as we suspected
