The admin team have discussed this . Obviously, these are difficult and uncertain times and things change daily but its clearly getting worse. At present we have not cancelled the Big Meet in May . However, a decision will be taken over the next few weeks whether to postpone this to a later date, taking into account all factors (communal sleeping and eating/drinking particularly) and official advice and we will announce.

The safety and health of our members (and also the people we come into contact with) is the most important thing of course.

thank you

Ian

I'm sure there's scope for portable megaphone that fit in MT gun boxes😊

Well every bike event I have booked this year is cancelled. Lands End Trial, track days, and TT which isn't till June ! :(
I don't give a damn about catching virus myself as I am sure I will survive. And if anyone don't want it they should be in isolation.
If we are not in lockdown I will be there.

I have been in self isolation stuck at home now for nearly 2 weeks , I'm in good health and have no symptoms I'm pleased to say, its a necessary precaution because I have been to Rome recently . Im allowed out again next week if I'm still healthy :)

The prospect of sitting in a field shouting at each other for a bit of human contact is actually quite appealing at the moment :D

Hope you get out of your self isolation as planned

I've been thinking about the megaphone idea. It might disturb other campers. Two alternatives
1) tins with holes in the base, with pieces of string
2) semaphone flags, with lights so that you could carry on communicating in the dark

As with speech , both of these methods would become less effective the more alcohol is drunk. I dismissed the idea of using Morse code because that would be a challenge even when sober :D

If we all take our phones we can set a chat group up and sit around like geriatric teenagers

I wouldn't worry Phil, everyone mumbles these days.

Now, what about using smoke signals ? A Chisel speciality at MT meets :D
