I’m running Continental TCX80 Twinduro, dunno what the sidewalls are like.
I note that they are described as 60% off-road 40% road. From that I would expect them to be just right, the sidewall of an off road tyre should cope with low pressure road running at a sensible pace.

You will discover that the more off road bias, the greater the wear rate when riding on the road. If you run road biased tyres, they are quieter, give lower fuel consumption, have less rolling resistance and may reduce your ride height by half an inch, which in turn takes you a shorter distance for every wheel revolution.

The other thing you may discover is that off roading can put more load on inner tubes, not a problem for good tubes and tyres. I've seen an older perished tube fail after a mile off road, the sidewall of the old tyre was past its best!

Jolly good. :D
See you at Popham.
Then hopefully we all get to the finish and be greeted by Lardmarc with yummy Cornish pasties. 8-)
Result! It appears we are 123 from Popham!

Note from the organisers, although not a firm statement (woolly phrases like “ought to postpone” and “propose we delay”), looking at postponement until 11/12 Sep. Poo.

Yes, just seen that. Was half expecting it anyway.
Oh well, at least I have nice new tyre, chain and sprockets fitted today in preparation.
Looks like Llanfylin will be next then if that's not cancelled.

I have written asking for a firm statement, pointed out shoddy grammar/syntax/spelling and that a formal announcement on the website backing up today’s email would be in order. Harrumph.

I presume you mean a 'definitive statement' ;)
