Hmmnnn...I'm obviously being dull. I've joined MCC, registered ACU but now seem to be in the situation that one wont let me progress without the other, Catch-22. Helplines not manned at the weekend so I'll try again on Monday.

Jolly good. :D
See you at Popham.
Then hopefully we all get to the finish and be greeted by Lardmarc with yummy Cornish pasties. 8-)

Question: Is the road book in miles? That’s going to be quite tedious converting all the distances into km if it is or do I not need to worry about that?

Yes, miles. I use a separate trip meter.
My wife usually converts the roadbook for me into larger print and we do one for Andrew in braille.
You will be ok if you follow us, assuming we are going the right way. You will need your roadbook if we get separated.

Ta. How difficult can it be? Head west, if you come to the sea, you’ve gone too far.

The difficult part is the event running to time.
So you need to get to certain points on time. If you have a puncture or go the wrong way you can fall behind and end up with the cars which is a pain.

Air. Do we alter our pressures at stages or do we run with what we have? I’ve a small battery compressor, is that worth taking or are there air points en route? I’ve seen a list of spares recommended, is that worthwhile and is there anything else?

I usually let my pressure down to 15 psi at the end of the road run to Bridgewater. Then run with that all the way to the end. You should really pump them up after each section but the MT43's are quite rigid walls and seem to cope well.
I carry a small tool kit, spare plug, bulbs, belt ect. If anything major goes I will be calling recovery.
