Mt500 Rear Wheel

Post by big sid » Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:28 pm

Mt500 rear wheel wanted in good condition. The spoke ring on mine is too far gone with corrosion.
I believe there is another bike out there that uses the same rear wheel if any one knows which, it would be of help.
Thanks
Sid

If there is enough interest with deposits we will look at manufacturing these billet spoke rings again

Hi Gary
I remember the trial batch of those you did a while back and I think you suggested having more made if enough interest was shown, as I recall there wasn't much response, I don't think it's a part that's in very high demand. I may be wrong(watch this space)? I for one would have one if you did.
Have you any idea what sort of expense having the wheel rebuilt would cost?
Cheers
Sid
Just had a look, seems a Moto Moroni Kamel uses the same rear wheel. There's some on that auction site but they look well worn too.

New spokes and wheel rebuilt costs around £135, powder coating of the hub, rim, new bearings, rim lock, tube, tyre, rim tape all mounts up to around £363.00 The new spoke ring and fitting of it will add around another £100.

You can back order a spoke ring here... https://sportaxracing.co.uk/shop/mt-par ... g-999-004/

Hope that helps..

There are two on eBay at the moment the guy has them numbered the one R-05D looks fine to me I'd personally buy that one if you need a wheel or is it the £192.40 that's putting you off :D

The Moto morini bike is more scarce than the Armstrong so they won't be around for long the other options you have is to get in touch with LMS or FORCE to see if they have any used ones but I'm sure they won't be giving them away.

Looking at FORCES website Nick has complete rear hubs @ £300 plus postage and they look a work of art too and Nick must have invested a lot of money to if he has a lot on the shelf?
