South East Camping Weekend (Nov 15-17th)
Some of you will have seen this event on Facebook.. but I should have posted it on here a while ago for those of you who have avoided Zuckerberg's evil.
For the last few years Madstu has organised an off-road weekend down in the south east, this time round he has passed it to me.
To make life easier, we are camping in the garden of a pub called the Halfway House near Brenchley/Horsmonden in Kent. There's room for vans/cars in the car park; no electric hook up though. The landlord isn't asking for any money, just that we drink his beer and eat his food. Neither of which should be an issue as it's all good stuff!
For Satuday morning I've found a cafe a short ride away that does breakfast and also puts us near the local lanes.
And now here's where the format changes from the usual meets.... for the last couple of months I've been planning a trail finder type exercise that uses the byways and I've placed markers on fence posts, trees, etc. The coordinates for these will be given to you along with a copy of my map and it will be a 'race' to find the markers first. Obviously it isn't an actual race, but there might be a prize or two. I think it should also be run in small groups so no one gets too lost . Road riders can also have a go as most the markers are within reach of the road...
Hopefully it will be a bit of fun and something slightly different to the norm!
Any questions just ask

You might as well just give it to Gary now.
I'll be in the pub.

Fffudge! Getting there is going to be just too difficult for me. Bike & trailer at home in Yorkshire but working all week in Somerset until Friday teatime. I would have really liked this. If I can sort anything different I'll do my best. I really must take better control of my diary!

Don't worry Steve, if it's a success I'm sure we can make it happen next year!

Would it be OK for me to come over on my Beemer as my Armstrong is off the road atm?
Remember, the rider's the reason, the destination 's the excuse, David.

You can turn up in a poncy coloured hair dressers car if you want.
The days of MTs only are long gone.
